About Us

Ty Capel is a 3-room bed & breakfast in the rural outskirts of Llanidloes in the heart of Mid-Wales. Set in a unique position overlooking the Clywedog Reservoir, each room has impressive views of the reservoir and surrounding Cambrian mountains or views of the gardens, fields, rolling hills and countrside.

It was originally built in the 1860s as a Calvinistic Methodist chapel. In the 1960s it was converted into a house and remained with the same family until the owner passed away. It was then bought in 2019 by Teresa and Jason Barnard, who restored and modernised it, turning it into a bed-and-breakfast where guests come to relax and take in the breathtaking views. When they decided to move on to a new venture we jumped at the chance to buy it.
